A Woman of Grace, Grit, and God: Celebrating ACP Tanaruno Anthonia Folashade on Her Special Day

Great people are born in October; a month that symbolizes liberty, independence, and divine freedom. It is no coincidence that ACP Tanaruno Anthonia Folashade, a woman whose life radiates purpose and godly strength, was born in this glorious season. As the Scriptures declare in 2 Corinthians 3:17–18, “Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” Truly, her life reflects that liberty; liberty from fear, from failure, and from the limitations that once confined women in uniformed service.

A Trailblazer with a Crown of Grace

From the bustling halls of the Nigeria Police Academy to her current post as the first female Area Commander of Agbara Command, ACP Tanaruno has proven that when purpose meets perseverance, greatness becomes inevitable. Her rise is not by chance but by divine orchestration. She stands as a reminder that “a diligent hand will rule, while laziness ends in forced labor” (Proverbs 12:24).

Her colleagues describe her as “a brain that listens to God”  a rare gem in a world where many depend on intellect alone. She has blended spiritual sensitivity with professional excellence, embodying the perfect union of wisdom and discipline. Her leadership is not just seen in uniform but felt in the impact she makes daily  restoring faith in the police through integrity, humility, and genuine service.

As the Yoruba adage says, “ÃŒwà l’ẹwà obìnrin”; character is the beauty of a woman. Indeed, ACP Tanaruno’s beauty shines not in ornaments or titles, but in her heart of compassion, her forgiving spirit, and her unshakable faith in God.

A Life Anchored in Faith and Forgiveness

Every success story has a secret, and hers is simple: absolute dependence on God. She often testifies that her strength, resilience, and wisdom flow not from human strategy but from divine revelation. Like Joseph in Egypt and Deborah in Israel, she is a vessel of divine insight; policing not just with power, but with purpose.

Despite the storms and pressures of her profession, she lives with a heart that forgives easily yet does not compromise justice. She believes in fairness, upholds truth, and ensures that the scales of law remain balanced. Her calm spirit, clothed in authority, reminds many that “a soft answer turneth away wrath” (Proverbs 15:1).

People who encounter her often say, “She doesn’t act like a police officer.” But in truth, she is the kind of police officer the world needs; just, godly, and compassionate. As another saying goes, “The gentle stride of a lion does not mean it has lost its strength.” Her humility is her greatest strength.

A Heart for the Next Generation

Beyond the badge and the command post, ACP Tanaruno is a visionary. She has initiated programs aimed at raising students with crime-free futures, focusing on mindset transformation and moral discipline. For her, policing begins not on the street but in the heart; and she is determined to build a generation that chooses peace over crime.

Her philosophy is clear: “Train the mind, and the society will heal.” With this, she has become a mentor and mother figure to many; showing that true leadership is service, and true power is influence rooted in love.

Grace in the Home and Glory in the Field

Behind the commanding presence is a tender soul, a submissive wife and mother who understands the balance between office and home. She often says, “Rank ends in the office, but at home, I remain who I am.”

She fondly refers to her husband as the Inspector General of the House, a playful yet profound expression of humility. Such a mindset mirrors the biblical principle in Ephesians 5:22–23, reminding us that leadership and submission are two sides of love. This humility, coupled with her forgiving nature, has made her a beacon of grace both in public service and in private life.

A Legacy of Light and Liberty

Like Esther in the Persian palace, ACP Tanaruno Anthonia Folashade has found favor before both God and man. Her story is a testimony that destiny bows to diligence and that faith still opens doors no human hand can shut.

As we celebrate her birthday, we celebrate more than a date; we celebrate a destiny. She is a glory carrier, a woman of valor, and a symbol of divine liberty. Her life continues to prove that “the path of the just is as a shining light that shineth more and more unto the perfect day” (Proverbs 4:18).

Birthday Benediction

May this new year usher her into greater wisdom, deeper peace, and broader influence. May her steps continue to be ordered by God, and her light never dim. Like the eagle, may she soar above storms, and like Deborah, may she continue to lead with courage and compassion.

Happy Birthday, ACP Tanaruno Anthonia Folashade; a phenomenal woman, a faithful servant, and a light in Nigeria’s security landscape.

As another adage says, “A good name is better than silver or gold.” Yours, Ma, is not just a name; it is a legacy.
